Friday Fill-ins: Date Night - Old School

No Maggie today. Still got up early to have some alone time. It is laundry day and playing with my kids. It is supposed to be hot today, so we may run through the sprinkler. We'll see.

Yesterday was a good day at Calaway park. I told Aidan we would go back sometime, though. He wanted to go on more rides, but Emma can only go on so many. Anyway, we will try to go there before it closes.

Thankfully it is Friday and tonight I am off to the new mall with hubby. Should be fun! I love fun dates. Sometimes we really need them, you know?

1. I remember, I remember hanging out at West Edmonton Mall when we lived in Edmonton. This was before kids. We had hardly any money, since I was in school. So we would go to the mall, share some supper and then wander. It was fun. I am hoping we do the same tonight!

2. Dear Diary I want you to know that I am so looking forward to hanging out with the kids today. They are excited, too. Well, they are happy that they have Mommy to themselves without Maggie around.

3. Is that my burnt-to-a-crisp face!!??? I put sunscreen on, too and reapplied. This German skin is a blessing and a curse.

4. I'm trying to resist the temptation of napping. I am so tired today. I feel like I could nap the day away. Emma was up for a few hours in the middle of the night. She was exhausted from yesterday, so one wonders if it was her teeth or something. Anyway, I think I will try turning out her night light tonight to see if that helps!

5. I'm saving a warm cup of coffee just for you! I love coffee!!

6. If I made a birthday list new earphones would definitely be on it!!! The ones that came with my iPod Nano do not stay in my ears. Very annoying!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going on a date with my hubby to the new mall, tomorrow my plans include resting and perhaps doing some Girl Guide planning and working in Promiseland and Sunday, I want to make cinnamon buns, grocery shop and go to see the Lion King!

Ahhh...The Drill Sound...

Maggie's First Birthday (that's her in the tent)
Well, my first of two dentist appointments is over with. My mouth is sore, but the freezing took this time. Thankfully! Last time it was a bit painful. Thanks to all those who thought of me and prayed. It was wonderful to know that there were people praying and thinking of me.

Everytime she did something, though, I just tensed up waiting for the pain to start. It never did. Only a bit when she started to go too close to another tooth. I am sure that happens a lot, though. In any case, I don't have to go back until the beginning of October.

Tomorrow we are heading out to Calaway Park, which is an amusement park outside of Calgary. I have fond memories of spending the whole night there when I was in Junior high. Our band would rent out the tent and we would have a BBQ and spend the afternoon/evening riding the rides. (The ocean motion, for example) Then we would also have a fun day at the end of the year and our school would take a group of people out there for the day. Junior high was a fun time, but I DO NOT, under no circumstances, want to go back!!

Anyway, they have changed the park up a bit. It used to have a Bedrock city theme. It is less of that now, though. I am sure the kids will have a great time. I will, too! I love it when the kids are lovin' it, if you know what I mean.

Tomorrow night my mom and I are going to do some face painting for "Brownie in the Park". It is a chance for Brownies and Spark aged girls to come and check out what it would be like to be a Brownie or a Spark. My mom and I are doing the face painting as a fundraiser for next summer when we take our 9 girls out to Ontario for a week long camp. (in Guelph)

Does anyone know how to quilt? I was just wondering because I have an urge to learn the proper techniques after reading a book that my Mom-in-law introduced me to. Now both my mom and I want to quilt. (Thanks, Sandra!!) Anyway, I was just wondering. I have already started to collect some of the kids nicer clothes for a quilt when they have their first child, so I need to learn how to do it!

Meanwhile, I have been knitting up a storm. Wash cloths to go in with people's Christmas gifts. They are fun and easy. Anyway, I find it easy to do a couple rows, even with the 3 kids running around. And it is relaxing. I like it!! Plus, I love something where I can see progress is being made.

Well, I guess that is it for now. I only had a Frostee and some fries for supper. (Hubby took us out to Wendy's since I wasn't feel so well!) Anyway, my stomach is starting to protest. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow and I PROMISE to try and get pictures up of our freshly painted rooms!!
Blessings to all!!

Monday...

Thought Of You
We are off to the zoo today. Jonathan is off and my mom is coming. It should be a nice day for the zoo. Not too hot, but at least the sun will be out. Should be good.

This week the Super Mall opens in Balzaac (just north of Calgary). CrossIron Mills is it's name. To see a preview, you can click here. We haven't had a new mall in Calgary for awhile, so it is really exciting. My friend, Janet, mother of Maggie, works in accounting for the company that owns the mall. She figures she will be at the mall a lot this week. Jonathan and I are planning on going on our own on Friday night (on our date). It will be nice to wander around without kids.

We are off to Calaway park on Thursday to ride the rides. It is really expensive, but my friend has a few passes for $9. So, that will save us a ton of money. It is supposed to be hot that day, so I think Aidan and I will venture on the log ride...

I usually do a Manic Monday, but I think she might be on holidays. So instead I am going to do some Monday Crazy Questions.

1. Last tuesday which was good friday we came to tell you something we know nothing about.
You were asked to pull up a chair and sit on the floor. What do you make of this?
You are all wierd and I am very confused!!

2. The answer is YES...what is the question?
Are you wearing slippers?

3. The cops are banging on your door late at night. What are you thinking they are there for?
Our neighbor is being taken in an ambulance. (He has some health issues and has an oxygen tank!) I keep waiting for the day that this is going to happen. I am always listening to make sure he is okay (we live in a duplex/semi-detatched).

4. Children learn what they live....so they say.. what would a child learn in your household??
That we love them unconditionally, and that God loves them more than we ever could.

5. Tell us about 1 family ritual your family does every year.
Has Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at my Mom's our my Aunt's, depending on the year.

6. What is the favorite food that you would eat everyday 3 times a day if you could?
Peanut Butter and chocolate. Together or separate!

7. Tell us about your fantasy.
To be in Paris with my husband. On the Eiffle Tower at night. Sitting in a cafe people watching. Going on a boat down the Seine...I could go on. I have thought a lot about it.

8. You are stranded on a deserted Island. You have plenty of food, a person to keep you company, shelter and life seems stress free. what do you tell the rescue ship when it arrives.??
That we were managing alright. Thanks for rescuing us, though. I miss my coffee!
