Friday Fill-ins: Our 10th Anniversary

Today is my 10th anniversary. Boy how time flies. It has been a wonderful 10 years with lots of ups and downs, adventures and lots of laughs. Some tears, too! One of my friends told me to look through pictures and remember, as the years pass ever so quickly.

We really celebrated by going to Las Vegas, so I don't expect too much. Just to remind myself that I am very blessed to have found someone so kind and loving. Someone who puts up with all of my "stuff" and still loves me in spite of all of that. I feel blessed to have been married for so long and that we got married at such a young age. I feel like we have so many more years to live and I can't imagine spending them with anyone else. We have two beautiful chilren and are totally blessed to be together. I love him more each day... Anyway, I won't go on and on...It will be too sappy for some of you!

In other news: I only have Maggie for half a day today. That should be good. The kids and I can spend a little time this afternoon just being together without Maggie. We will see her tomorrow morning for her birthday party. She is turning one. That is amazing in itself.

This weekend is busy. Jonathan is on worship Saturday and Sunday night. I am working in Promiseland on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, I was requested to do a puppet show for the Special Needs class at church. So, I will be doing a short 5-10 minute show. Should be fun, but a lot of work this weekend. Luckily Jonathan is off on Monday!!

In keeping with my new tradition, here is a Friday Fill-in!! (I really enjoy doing these!! Hope you don't mind reading them!)

And...here we go!

1. Lemonade is my favorite summertime drink. It can be yellow or pink. I have no color preference. Nothing quenches my thirst like a nice cold glass of lemonade. Too bad we really haven't had enough hot weather to partake very often!

2. My favorite John Hughes movies is "The Breakfast Club". Although I really do like most of the ones that he created. I am totally the preppy girl in the movie (just in case you were wondering which character I would relate to. Shocking, I know!) I also totally love the rebel guy. He was a good character. And the ending song...CLASSIC!!

3. My silky moon and star pj pants (are) is something I love to touch. I love the feeling of them!

4. The full moon is making Emma crazy. I mean she is already a bit crazy because she is going through this 'terrible two' stuff, but the past couple of days she has really been pushing the buttons!! Silly moon!!

5. I am eating some really disgusting BBQ rice chips right now. They are not good. But, I bought 3 bags full and need to eat them up. They are always out of the good kind when I go to the store. Very sad.

6. When daylight fades I enjoy my alone time while the kids are in bed. It is so quiet and peaceful and I can actually have a few thoughts of my own that are unrelated to feeding, changing, sleeping and playing!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to working on my puppet play and spending some quality time with the husband for our anniversary, tomorrow my plans include birthday party and Promiseland and Sunday, I want to rest in the afternoon with the kids and perhaps have my sister over for supper or go out for supper!

Manic Monday & Tuesday Tunes: Painting Stories on a Happy Day

Tags Maker is a Text Image Generator to write Messages, Comments or Tags on Pictures

It is done. Well, except for Emma's purple stripes, it is done. The colors are lovely and Aidan really loves his new room. I think Emma does, too, in her own 'terrible two' way. (She is really coming into that stage now...Anyone want to have a two year old for awhile??)

Jenny and I managed to continue to speak with one another, despite being siblings and hanging out together for hours on end. You know...sisters. We can handle each other for awhile, but...

Jonathan was a big help just running errands, doing dishes, holding paint brushes, hanging curtains. He was really trying to get out of the painting part, and he didn't have to do any of that, so I think he was happy. He said the rooms looked really good, so I know that he thinks we did a good job.

Our hotel room was wonderful. (Except there was no hot tub!) The rooms were spacious enough and we had a fridge and microwave. (But there was no hot tub!) The bathroom was tiny, but it was nicely done. We had free internet (if we had a computer with us) and the beds were fairly comfy. (Only there was no hot tub!) The continental breakfast was really good. They shook it up a bit, too. It was nice. Did I mention there was no hot tub?

On Saturday we stopped for lunch and headed out to Subway (I was not making anything this weekend!). We got into the Subway and there was this stinging of the eyes. Everyone kept looking at each other (the customers) and rubbing our eyes. No one said anything. Finally one of the guys said to Jonathan, "hey are your eyes stinging?" Then the big guy from behind the counter explained that they had been cutting onions in the back room. YIKES!! Needless to say, none of us put onions on our subs.

Our second stop was to the 7-Eleven. It was a million degrees outside and we were all sweating up a storm. We pull into the parking lot and park beside an 80s red corvette. Jen and I got out and looked into the nice red leather seats with those tiny holes in them. You know...the leather that looks like it has been poked with tiny pins? We made some comment about it and proceded into the store.

The guy who was the owner of the corvette was inside at the teller. We walk in and he says to Jenny, "Hey, you just hit the side of my car with your purse." Jen said, "Oh, I'm sorry!" He replies: "Are you really?" (As if she meant to hit his 80s corvette...) She said, "Yes, I am". He finishes up at the till and then leaves the store. We watch him as he exits and takes a long examination of the side of his car.

Now you have to understand that Jenny's purse is a small quilted bag that goes across the chest. It is no bigger than a large wallet, with nothing on it to do any damage. Yet, he still went outside and took a long look at the side of his precious car. I still can't believe it....

Anyway, there was not too much else that really happened. A couple of killer storms with hail and wind. Our recycling bin ended up in our neighbor's yard. There are some trees that got some extra pruning. And lots of lightning.

I will take some pictures of the rooms tomorrow and post them here for you to take a look at. I am really proud of them.

And now for something completely mindless...Manic Monday!

Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?
A week without bathing. I have gone that long and it is not bad. As long as you have clean clothes, you are fine. My hair is the only thing that would really get to me. Oh well. I am going to be going for 10 days without bathing next summer at Girl Guide camp. Perhaps I should practice beforehand.

If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
Well, if I wanted something easy to do for the month I would choose "Friends" or "The Office". I mean, as long as you are into your social game, you could survive quite easily on those shows for a month. Plus, I really would like to meet all of the characters on those shows, so that would be good.

If I wanted something a bit more difficult to do for the month, I would choose "Fringe" because at least my brain would have to be working hard and it would be challenging. Plus you would get to meet all of those characters and I would LOVE to do that.

Since it is almost Tuesday, I will post a Tuesday Tune here, too. This is a song that Jonathan has done on worship team and Aidan has started to learn it in his new class in Promiseland. He thinks it is pretty neat that Daddy plays the same songs that he sings in Promiseland. Anyway, this song has been going through my head a lot lately, so I thought I would let it run through yours!! (Plus, I think she has a really cool voice for worship music!)
