No Such Thing As Coincidences

When I was at the library, I picked up a book for myself by Liz Curtis Higgs (click here). I have never read any of her books, but I thought I would try one. I picked it up but didn't really read the back of it. (click here - first book : thorn of my heart)

I started to read it before bed last night. All of a sudden I went, "Whoa! I know this story. It is the story of Isaac and Rebekah."

That's when I looked at the back cover. It is the story of Rebekah and of Leah and Rachel set in 16th century Scotland. I couldn't believe it. This is exactly what we are studying in my Beth Moore study on the Partriarchs.

All I can say is that I guess I haven't learned everything from these ladies of the Old Testament yet!

At the Library

Sitting here at the library

Filled with books

Filled with people

Surrounded by

Quiet talking

Tapping of keys

Flipping of pages

Feel the stare of

Heros in armor

Villains in street clothes

Pricesses in gowns

Historical figures in garb

Messages of

Ways to live

How not to live

How to love

How to hate

How to be

Will anyone listen?

Uh-Oh!

That is the new word that Emma is expressing these days. My mom and sister taught her that last night. Now she is doing it all the time.

We put her in the nursery on Saturday night at church. She lasted the whole time, though they say she cried a lot during the first half. She needs to do this, though, so we will continue to put her in the nursery. I am sure that she will get used to it the more she does it. Since she is going through this stage of wanting mommy all the time, this is ideal for her development.

Aidan has his Preschool Valentine's party tomorrow. We have to put his Valentine's cards together today and make sure he dresses in red tomorrow. It should be fun for him.

My cold is coming back. It keeps coming back. My children were both up last night a couple of times, which just sends my cold back with a vengence. I have been nursing it quite well, but then you start to feel better, so you stop being so consciencious about it. Now it is back. I am sneezing and have a runny nose and I am cold. (and then hot, and then cold...) I just want to be well again.

We are supposed to be having a bake sale tonight at Bible study. They are trying to raise enough money for a lady to go to the women's retreat who can't afford to go. I find this very difficult, as I cannot afford to go. It costs $225.00/woman to go. We are not made of money here, people!! Perhaps I am being a tad bit jaded, but it seems funny to raise money for someone, when I am that someone! Am I being crazy or what?

I never did watch a Disney movie the other day as Aidan wanted to play cars instead. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I do love Monsters Inc., as well, especially Boo. She is sooo cute!! Maybe today after Aidan's Valentine's are done.

Well, homework calls.
