Friday Fill-in: New Season of TV!!

Fringe Pictures, Images and Photos
The first episode of "Fringe" was on last night. I am totally addicted to that show. I just love it. Anyway, it left me with more questions than answers and I am still thinking about them. Looks like it should be another good season!!

I watched "Survivor" last night, as well, care of my hubby. There is a guy on there trying to control his whole team...and it is working!! I am intrigued by him and the way he is playing the game. I guess I will have to tune in next week.

I don't understand why all the good shows are on one night. I also watch CSI (the original, not the other 2), which is on at the same time as "Fringe". Unfortunately, I can't watch them both at the same time. So, I am going to watch "Fringe" and tape "CSI". You also have "The Office" and "Grey's Anatomy", all on Thursdays. Seriously? Are there no other nights for TV?

Monday is the 2 hour episode of "House". They showed a preview of it last night...I can't wait to watch it. I love House and I love the weird and eclectic music they use on the show. I am excited.

A week Sunday is the beginning of "Amazing Race". It looks like an interesting cast this year. I have already pegged out a few teams that will probably end up bickering the whole time, until they get eliminated because it gets in the way of the game. It is Jonathan's favorite show. He has all the seasons on tape (like father like son). Anyway, it should be good.

What shows are you most looking forward to this fall?

1. My car is a nice, reliable Toyota Corolla. A standard. I am always amazed at how easy it is to drive a standard since I didn't know how a couple of years ago.

2. Thanksgiving is coming up next. I can't wait to eat turkey and pumpkin pie.

3. Lately, things seem hectic. Getting Aidan to school on time. Walking. Eating. Sleeping... I seem to be on the go...A LOT!!

4. Inside a really good book is one of my favorite 'hiding' places. There is nothing like losing yourself in the characters, the theme, the surroundings. I love reading books!!

5. What happened to TGIF on TV? Do you remember? "Family Matters", "Full House", "Step by Step", "America's Funniest Home Videos"...When we could all sit down as a family and watch TV. Those days are long gone...

6. Sleeping in with kids is not impossible! I just need it to be Saturday!! LOL!!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to shopping for a birthday present, tomorrow my plans include a birthday party and working in Promiseland at church and Sunday, I want to RELAX!

Manic Monday: The Beginning...

Photobucket

Tonight is the start of Monday night Bible study - Women of Heart, Evening Edition. I cannot wait!! I have been missing it so much. I can't wait to see some of the women that I have become friends with over the past couple of years. I can't wait to see what God wants to teach me this year. I have been on a journey every year. I can't wait to see what this one will entail!! I will fill you in on how it went...No worries there!!

I don't know if any of you saw this on the MTV awards last night, but it is all the rage on Twitter this morning so I took a look. I just have to share because I really like Taylor Swift and it is so inappropriate what Kanye West did. Like having a temper tantrum in front of the camera. He does apologize on his blog this morning, but that is a little bit late and the damage has been done. Not only does it make him look bad, but Beyonce as well since she just sat there smiling. Anyway, take a look!!

What's one new thing you tried this summer than you've never done before?
Camping with the kids, which was great. They loved it and so did I. It was fun. Can't wait to go again.

What is the one thing you miss the most about summer when it is over?
The lazy schedule that you can keep. Not having to get up so early and get going in the morning. Being able to lounge around. That is the thing that I will miss the most.

If you could eliminate one source of anger in your life right now, what would it be?

Hmmm... That is a tough one. I guess that we could find an easier way to get Aidan to Kindergarten. We have to get up so early to have him there on time by walking. He's tired and I am tired and we are trying to hurry to get out the door. That doesn't bring out the best in any of us.

P.S.
Thanks, Sandra and Tina for the comments. I do not want to be exactly like this woman, but it is nice to remember that even though some of the things I do may not get much recognition or praise right now, they will someday!! And yes, she would be scorned in today's society by both men and women. We are not supposed to be subservient to our husbands and children. Not in today's society, anyway.

Sunday Reflections: A Wife of Noble Character

It's been going through my head lately since I have been getting up so early in the morning and have been grumbling about it. This is sort of a life verse for me and something I need to remind myself of often.

A Wife of Noble Character
(Proverbs 31:10-31 NLT)

10 [b]Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.

11 Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax
and busily spins it.
14 She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.

16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She is energetic and strong,
a hard worker.

18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.

19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,
her fingers twisting fiber.
20 She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.

21 She has no fear of winter for her household,
for everyone has warm[c] clothes.

22 She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
23 Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.

24 She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!”

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.

31 Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
