Friday Fill-in: Camping

Off to camp today!!  Here's a little Friday Fill-in while I go pack!!

1. Ooooh, I have to go to camp this weekend.  Should be okay.  We are in buildings.  That will be nice.

2. It is so cold outside (-30*C/-22*F), I can't stand it!  I want spring to be here soon.  I want to do some gardening, play outside, go for walks...

3. How the heck did I end up with so many emails in my inbox?  I need to go through them again and trash a whole bunch....Time consuming, though.

4. The shoe store is one of my favorite places to visit.  I love shoes!!  I could have a whole room just devoted to shoe storage.  Wouldn't that be awesome???  Who's with me??

5. I'm not a lucky person, I'm not!  That being said, I have already won 2 coffees on Tim Horton's Roll Up the Rim to Win contest this year.  They have a button that the have to press and it makes a loud noise.  They also yell out "We have a winner!"  Makes you feel kinda special!!

6. I have been working on my testimony for Monday night and it has to be good.  Well, it doesn't have to be.  I just want to show God's work in my life for His Glory.  It has been fun to see where God has taken me.  Now if only I can find a song that I want to sing...

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to camp, tomorrow my plans include more camping and Sunday, I want to come home, take a shower, cuddle my kids and rest!

Happy Thinking Day!!

Lady Olave Baden-Powell's Last Message

Dear Guides, Scouts, Cubs and Brownies and all their leaders and friends,

I shall have left this world when you receive this message, which I leave to express my thanks for all the kindnesses and the affection shown to me, and to say how greatly I have rejoiced over the way in which you have carried out your share in the work of the Movement that my beloved husband invented, for the advancement of boys and girls of all countries years ago.

I have firm belief in Almighty God and in the life in the world to come, when he and I will be reunited, and together we shall watch over you who have been enrolled as members of this world family, and go on caring for your progress and your well being.

I trust that you will continue fully to use the system of work and play that our Movement provides, keeping up the fun and the friendships made at your meetings and in camps, abiding by the Promise and upholding the Laws that you undertook to live by when you joined up.

In that way you will not only advance yourself in body, mind and spirit, but you will affect those around you, in doing what is honourable and right and wise, and in giving out kindness of thought and action, thus striving against all ills and helping to make the world a happier and a better place in which to live.

I trust you will be successful in all your tasks, and may God be with you all in the coming years.

A Sunday Blogthing

Good morning!  I'm up early to have some time to myself before the kids get up.  So nice.  Listening to music, drinking coffee, computer time uninterrupted....

It has been a long week.  Hubby has been sick, leaving me to do EVERYTHING around the house.  I have been fighting off this cold thingy, too.  But someone has to keep the kids fed, rested, bathed, dressed and the house clean.  So, here I am.  Moms should really win more awards, I think!  We deserve it!!

Anyway, I thought I would share a blog thing today.  Something about books because I love books.  I want to write one.  Or several.  Even if they are not published.  I just want to write.  Perhaps one of the dreams I have squelched since becoming a stay-at-home mom.  Since they are not really hiring with CBE (I emailed and checked into getting back on the sublist....Not promising...), I should start writing more....  I will keep you posted.

Have a great Sunday!!

You Are Fiction

You believe that life is magical, especially when you enter the world of ideas.

You are highly creative and imaginative. The real world often isn't enough for you.

You are optimistic and hopeful. You believe that we craft our own destinies.

You believe that if you can dream it, you can do it. And you do a lot of dreaming.
