Hard Times

Well, the job prospects are looking more and more bleak.  They are laying off more staff in the school system this coming year.  So, what now?  What does God have in store?  I am not sure.  I know He has brought me to this place in time for a reason.  Maybe He's pushing me to something that I don't think I can do...like writing or something like that.  Anyway, I will wait and ask for prayer for patience and wisdom about what He wants me to do.  I will keep you posted.

In any case, Tangled comes out next week.  If you haven't seen it, please make sure you do.  It is REALLY good.  One of the best princess movies ever.  I pre-ordered my copy, if just so I can watch it.  I can't wait till it arrives on my doorstep!  Until then, here's the song from my favorite scene with the floating lanterns...So romantic and so beautiful.  I cried....

Ahhh...The Drill Sound...

Maggie's First Birthday (that's her in the tent)
Well, my first of two dentist appointments is over with. My mouth is sore, but the freezing took this time. Thankfully! Last time it was a bit painful. Thanks to all those who thought of me and prayed. It was wonderful to know that there were people praying and thinking of me.

Everytime she did something, though, I just tensed up waiting for the pain to start. It never did. Only a bit when she started to go too close to another tooth. I am sure that happens a lot, though. In any case, I don't have to go back until the beginning of October.

Tomorrow we are heading out to Calaway Park, which is an amusement park outside of Calgary. I have fond memories of spending the whole night there when I was in Junior high. Our band would rent out the tent and we would have a BBQ and spend the afternoon/evening riding the rides. (The ocean motion, for example) Then we would also have a fun day at the end of the year and our school would take a group of people out there for the day. Junior high was a fun time, but I DO NOT, under no circumstances, want to go back!!

Anyway, they have changed the park up a bit. It used to have a Bedrock city theme. It is less of that now, though. I am sure the kids will have a great time. I will, too! I love it when the kids are lovin' it, if you know what I mean.

Tomorrow night my mom and I are going to do some face painting for "Brownie in the Park". It is a chance for Brownies and Spark aged girls to come and check out what it would be like to be a Brownie or a Spark. My mom and I are doing the face painting as a fundraiser for next summer when we take our 9 girls out to Ontario for a week long camp. (in Guelph)

Does anyone know how to quilt? I was just wondering because I have an urge to learn the proper techniques after reading a book that my Mom-in-law introduced me to. Now both my mom and I want to quilt. (Thanks, Sandra!!) Anyway, I was just wondering. I have already started to collect some of the kids nicer clothes for a quilt when they have their first child, so I need to learn how to do it!

Meanwhile, I have been knitting up a storm. Wash cloths to go in with people's Christmas gifts. They are fun and easy. Anyway, I find it easy to do a couple rows, even with the 3 kids running around. And it is relaxing. I like it!! Plus, I love something where I can see progress is being made.

Well, I guess that is it for now. I only had a Frostee and some fries for supper. (Hubby took us out to Wendy's since I wasn't feel so well!) Anyway, my stomach is starting to protest. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow and I PROMISE to try and get pictures up of our freshly painted rooms!!
Blessings to all!!

Tuesday Tunes & Checkin' In!!

The Sun Pictures, Images and Photos

The sun is shining today! It is supposed to be warm enough to go outside today. I am so excited!! I still have laundry to finish, so we won't be going too far, but we'll see.

Tonight is Aidan's Kindergarten Orientation meeting. He gets to come with us. He is really excited about meeting his teacher and his other classmates. I hope that he does well and that he and his peers get along.

I feel like Kindergarten is the beginning of the end. I mean, he has been under our influence for at least 90% of the time so far. Once he is in school, our influence is still important, but it is way less. I better make sure to make the most of our time together!!

Hopefully I will get to do some reading today. I love reading!

This weekend I am doing a First Aid course. All weekend. 9-5 each day. I will be tired by Monday!

Well, I hear both kids stirring. Just wanted to write a little bit and let you know how my life is going. I hope you will all be having a lovely day today whatever you are doing!

Here's a late Tuesday Tunes!! Love this song!

I'm Reading Right Now...

...and I can't put it down!

I am back and am currently reading the book above! This is keeping me from being online. I will blog tomorrow. Right now, I am going to go back to my reading.

Camp was fun and I survived. Will fill you all in tomorrow...

Until then...Blessings!

New Discoveries!!

I am going to start getting up early on the weekends to have a cup of coffee and some alone time with God. I may blog here from time to time as well. (Depending on how the kids are!!) This morning, Aidan is reading quietly in his room and Emma is still sleeping. We were up late because of church last night. It is already 9:25. I will get them both up soon so we can go grocery shopping and then probably go to my parents' house this afternoon for supper.

I wanted to share an amazing thing that happened last night. I have been doing worship and puppets at church for the Preschoolers. (Actually, I've done puppets twice and worship once!) Anyway, it was awesome. The lady that organizes it only knows a bit about me. That I can sing and did puppets on Morning Star. She doesn't know how/ where I have sung. She doesn't know about Vacation Bible School every summer. She just knows that I can sing. Keep this in mind.

Last night she comes up to me and asks if I would be interested in helping her choose songs and making up actions to the songs. I could listen to the CDs and pick ones that my kids are really into. Then we will meet in a couple of weeks and start making up actions!! I have told her nothing, and yet she said to me that I was the person she thought of right away.... A total God thing.

In my last blog entry I said that I wanted to go out on a limb and do something different. This is not something different, but it is different for the setting. I am really excited about this. God really is leading me in a new direction and I love it!! He is good.

I hope that you are all having a wonderful day today. It is Chinooking outside!! This makes us all happy!!

Oh and Paul Brandt was there last night and I got a glimpse of his new little baby! So cute!! (If you don't know who he is, click here!!) Anyway, here's a song about our lovely province of Alberta, by Paul! Enjoy!
