Poetry Wednesday

Loss
I watch you in the moonlight
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks

There is nothing I can say
Words would only be hollow
Untimely sounds conjured

I wait for you to look at me
My heart pounds: it's too late
Finale rhythmic notes

Will I ever see you again
The door opens and shuts
Actions answering instantly

Emptiness

I watch you in the moonlight
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks
* * * * * * *

This is my own creation. I was just trying to capture that feeling when you know there is nothing that can be said to save a situation. That feeling you get when you know that you are going beyond the rescuing of a relationship.

I love playing with words and trying to make them say things between the lines to convey the emotions in the poem. (I don't know if that makes any sense!) In this case, I am really trying to make you feel the emptiness and loss that the person in the poem is feeling.
If you like my poetry, my other blog (Room to write) has more poems on it. I am going to be doing poetry every Wednesday.

Audition Jitters!!

So, I am going to audition for worship team on April 3. I am nervous already, and it is over a month away. It is a bigger church, bigger sea of fish...Will I be able to handle it? Will I be able to do what I am so passionate about doing? Has God really called me to do this or have I just imagined it? Jonathan is on a team already. Where am I supposed to be?

Time will tell, I suppose. If God closes the door on this, where do I go from here?

Sorry! This entry is a little bit scattered. These are just the random thoughts that I have going through my head.

Please keep me in your prayers for the next month, and especially on April 3rd. I need to practice the songs and know them like the back of my hand. Most importantly, I want them to be able to see my heart; see who I really am. I don't want to try and be anyone I am not. (I do not sing like other people on worship team. I don't add in a lot of frills, and runs, etc. It's not my style. So, I don't want to start doing that just because I think that is what they want to hear.)

This is hard. I am totally trusting God for this, which is always hard and always rewarding in the end. That's what I have to keep telling myself.

Elections!

I am working the elections. They were short on people to sit at polling stations, so that is what I am going to be doing. I am the Registration Officer. People come to me who are not on the voters list and I register them. They have to give me an oath that they are who they say they are. Very interesting. I am making $250 for a day's work. I think I can handle that.

The other reasons I think this should be good is that I am being an excellent role model for my children. I have been brought up to believe that every vote counts, even your own. By participating in this way, I am really showing my children how important it is. Of course, I am sure they don't know what is happening, but it is the principal of the thing.

Don't get me wrong - I am all for reforming our voting process, whether it's municipal, provincial or federal. I am all for voting for leaders, as well as our local MLAs, MPs, etc. I am also for Senate reform. We should have more say on who is a part of the Senate. They do, after all, make many very important decisions.

With that said, I still believe that we should all take part in elections, no matter how we feel about the process. You can always use your vote in favor of someone who is willing to look into our voting process. It is our duty and our right. We should all use it!

Blah!

How in the world do you get a child to sleep??? I am so tired today. Emma was awake from 3:30 until 5:30 when we finally brought her to bed with us. I think she is getting used to us doing this, but it is better than trying to rock her back to sleep - which is impossible! One of her teeth has popped through, the other one is probably causing all of the problems. Knowing that fact doesn't make the sleepless nights any easier. I think I will rely on trusty old Advil before bed tonight. Hopefully that will help.

My parents are back in Toronto. The should be there for a week and a bit and then fly back. Jonathan drove them to the airport early this morning.

Well, that's all my tired eyes and fingers can handle.
