In any case, grab a cup of joe and relax.
Top Ten Reasons to Drink Coffee:
10) Nice and hot in the morning - It is getting colder outside, so this one should be up near the front of the list. But, I digress. It is a lovely way to wake up to a cold house and drink a nice and hot, fresh cup of coffee.
9) Too early for Coke - Although I have been known to drink Coke on occassion in the morning, instead of making coffee.
8) Goes nicely with breakfast foods -Especially with pancakes from Phil's!
7) Tastes okay, especially if you add sugar and cream - I know there are people out there who like it black...I am not talking about those 'crazies', only us normal people. You know, those of us who like a lot of flavored cream in our coffee to mask some of the taste, but keep the benefits of the caffeine? Don't pretend you are not one of those if you are. There is nothing to be ashamed of.
6) Smells divine - There is nothing like it.
5) Reminder that no one is perfect - Let's face it. We are addicted to the stuff (at least I am) and we crave it daily. Even if it turns our teeth yellow and we get the shakes and headaches if we don't have enough! How perfectly 'human' we are.
4) It's a good drink to have when visiting with friends - Most of us drink it, so it is a good thing to do with friends. Many wonderful conversations have happened in my short life over coffee. I am sure this will continue.
3) Goes great with donuts - This is just for all us Timmy Ho's fans up here in Canada. Sorry to those of you in the States or elsewhere that have no idea what I am talking about!!
2) Gives you a kick - Why else do we drink it? There is no other reason, really, unless you are one of the 'crazies' mentioned above that actually like the taste. For the rest of us, it is a jump start in the morning or whenever we need it!
1) Why not? - What else are you going to drink? Orange juice? Some organic stuff? Who wants to be healthy???

What's that? You need to go and have some coffee right now? Okay. I'll be waiting until you get back...
Hey...can you get one for me, too?

This was wnderful to read this afternoon. I am actually drinking a cup of tea, but love my morning coffee.
My top ten reasons to drink coffee... :-)
1. in agreement with you--it is a great way to warm up and excellent hand warmer with one's hands cupped around a mug(or should that be mugged around a cup?)
2.doesn't rot your teeth out like a cola would...! Not one who could ever drink a cold soda in the morning, anyway.
3.goes nicely with left-over chocolate cake. Yes, I have been known to eat a small slice with my morning coffee...
4.Tastes perfect with a small splash of milk(never anything heavy like cream) and never any sugar. And no flavored anything--I like my coffee unadulderated and tasting like coffee, please. I am half-way crazy, then? :-P
5.Sometimes the smell of brewing coffee is better than the actual taste...a pity. it makes a house or a restaurant smell even more inviting.
6. One of my vices (like chocolate and wine). There are worse bad habits, to be sure. And good thing there are those Crest White Strips we can use, huh? ;-)
7. It is always nice to brew up a fresh pot for friends and share it with them.
8. True...donuts pair perfectly with coffee. We have Tim Horton's here too. They bought out an old R.I. donut and coffee chain a few years ago. The old chain had mediocre donuts and coffee and the new owners haven't changed that. I prefer Dunkin Donuts. Either a plain cruller or jelly filled. 9.The "kick" it delivers is great!! When I was a stay-at-home Mom, my 4:00 in the afternoon "boost" is what kept me going for the rest of the day through toddler melt-down time and supper and the endless bedtime ritual.
10. There ARE really health benefits to drinking freshly brewed coffee... http://men.webmd.com/features/coffee-new-health-food
I am craving coffee now! A little late for it, but still!
I take it with fat-free flavored creamer and splenda, yum-o. Christmas blend should be coming out soon at Starbucks--love brewing up a pot of that when it's cold out.
Will have to do coffee soon, am in definite need of a gab session!
I don't have time at the moment to write my own list, but I must say that Timmy's doughnuts (and other baked goods) have been *foul* since they went to the "freeze and ship pre-baked dough thousands of kms from Barrie, Ontario" model. Blech. They were *much* better when they were made and baked in-store oh-so-many years ago.
Our local bakery makes AWESOME doughnuts fresh each morning. The baked apple fritters are to die for, especially with a good cup of coffee. Yum!
I may bash Timmy's, but it is unfortunately our ONLY option if you want to go out for coffee in town...except for the bakery which also makes so-so coffee. So sad.
