I just had to share a few pictures. Now on to my Top Ten for Friday.
Top Ten Things I Love About the Summer Olympics:
10) The atmosphere - since having the Olympics here in 1988, I have always felt the electic atmosphere that these days bring. I can feel it even though I am miles away.
9) The Closing ceremonies - are usually a great big celebration, but they are so bitter sweet. That's why it is my number 9 and not closer to the front.
8) The Entry of the Althletes - the outfits are all so different. The countries are so varied. Even the smallest countries, that come out with a few athletes. They love coming to the games and see it as an honor. That's great. (Oh and the snapping of their cameras!!)
7) The Global Community Coming Together - despite cultures, governments, beliefs - We all come together.
6) The Focus of the World on These Games - there is some good news for awhile. I like good news.
5) Seeing Other Cultures - The opening ceremonies is a good place for this, as the hosting country does an excellent job of blending in their culture.
4) The Track and Field Events - The running and sprints, especially. Jonathan has me hooked on this now. I even know a lot of the runners who will do the longer runs.
3) The Opening Ceremonies - What a great way to start the Olympics. The music, the dancing, the songs...Then the lighting of the torch. Excellent.
2) The Competions and stories of the Athletes
1) The National Pride - as a very humble country, we don't usually boast about our Canadian-ness. At the Olympics, all bets are off. I love it!!

I hope you all will watch some of the wonderful Olympics. What a great thing to be a part of, even if we are halfway around the world.

I remember your wedding! It was a blast! I have a bunch of wedding pics from it, I should copy my scrapbook pages I did, and give them to you guys! Happy Late Anniversary! :)
Ooohh...you are a good-looking couple in a unique way. Your husband has the look of British royalty(like he would fit in with Diana's sons) and you have this lovely retro look--a 60's Audrey Hepburn look!! It's nice to see someone in a different type wedding dress from the usual Cinderella type of dress.
Did you watch the opening ceremonies yesterday? I tried but it was just too much pageantry for me--too long and I got bored, so wrote a letter instead.
