Manic Monday: Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant

It is a short week for me this week. I only have Maggie for the first 3 days. Then this coming weekend we are going camping. My Mom asked me if I had planned the menu yet. This just goes to show you that I am the organizational freak of the family. I love planning, making lists, labelling things, etc. I could be a professional organizer. I could be Monica from "Friends"!

Maggie is walking up a storm right now. Needless to say, she needed to have a morning nap at 9:00 this morning. She was so tired from walking all over the place. I would rather her go down early, though so that she will have a bit of a nap before Daddy comes to get her at 3:00pm.

I was going to try and write some yesterday. Unfortunately I don't know where the story is going next. I just am dabbling with a story right now. Every once and awhile I will go back to it and write some more. Today I am feeling like a poem is coming, so I may have to crack open my Poetry notebook or a new journal I received and start crackin'.

Anyway, I hope that you are all enjoying your day whatever you are doing. And now...time for a Manic Monday. I believe that we will be going to heaven when we die, so the last question I have thought about a lot. Anyway, without furthur ado...

When and with whom was your first kiss?
I was 6 years old and I was playing house(does that one count?) and it was with my best friend at the time. He was the Dad and I was the Mom.

My first real kiss happened in elementary school with my first 'boyfriend' in grade 5. Behind the dumpster on the playground.

Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
I believe that we make choices and because of those choices certain things happen. God gave us free will, to make the choices we make. He knows what we will do, but He still lets us decide. Then He uses what we choose for His glory. If we are in tune with God and His Word, than the choice that He would like us to make (I'm talking BIG decisions) will become more clear. (Like when I heard God whisper in my heart that Jonathan was the one I was going to marry!) This is getting to be like a theological lesson. Sorry. I have no idea if this answered the question or not.

What would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
"Well done, good and faithful servant!" "Welcome home my daughter. I loved you before you were ever born and am so glad to have you here." At which point He will embrace me with a huge hug!! That is what I want!!

Saturday Blogthingy: It is soooo hot...

Glitter Glue
We are finally getting our summer here. It was 31 degrees Celcius yesterday. So hot that I turned on the fan. This is only the second time that I have had to use the fan this season. Sad, but true!! I do not like it when it is that hot. I would rather have it in the high teens to low twenties. My Dad (who doesn't put shorts on until it is 20) loved it yesterday...

Well, it has taken me all weekend to recover from Vacation Bible School. It was a great time. We had so much fun and the kids did, too. This was the first time that we ever received a Thank-you present. (Kernels Popcorn) That was a nice surprise!

Today Jonathan is playing drums at a different church and then I am going grocery shopping and picking up my sister. My parents are in Rosebud at the Dinner Theater with their Love Circle (small group of married couples). So, I thought we could bring Jenny over here to hang out with us. May even haul out the pool.

I only have Maggie 3 days this week. This upcoming weekend my parents and I are taking the kids camping to Camp Jubilee. (Girl Guide camp that we go to in Cochrane) We rented one of their small cabins (sleeps 6) and Aidan and Granny are going to sleep outside in a tent on Saturday night. Aidan is really looking forward to it. Emma...well she has no idea! I am looking forward to it, too, as I LOVE camping. Jonathan does not. He is looking forward to playing Poker and watching what he wants to watch on TV. Bachelorhood again!

Since we are finally having some summer out here I thought a summer themed blog thingy would be appropriate. I am sensitive, actually, although I hardly let people see it. Only those that know me pretty well. I can't take criticism very well, that's for sure. And I am a people pleaser, not extremely so, but I do want people to like me and am hurt and confused when they don't. So perhaps there is some truth to this, after all...

You Are a Snow Cone

You are lighthearted, playful, and optimistic about the world.

You're always having fun, and you're not the type to turn down anything sweet.

People might be surprised to know that you're very sensitive.

Even though you put on a brave face, your feelings are easily wounded.

One More Day!

There is one more day of Vacation Bible School. This week has just flown by, like it always does. It has been great. We have loved every minute of it. The kids have, too. One of the parents told my Mom that their kids are having a blast and are always singing the songs. That's exactly what we want them to be doing!!

Today was Jesus' day (Thursday always is). It was amazing. We were singing some songs and the kids were really getting into it. I just got goosebumps all over my arms. Those kids are great and are learning about God. The simple things. The things we as adults make really complicated. It reminded me that we just need to focus on God's Truth and not on our human way of thinking about things. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

God is Powerful and He cares for us! He does what He says He will do. He gives us life. FEAR NOT!!
