Sun!!

How amazing it is to have the sun today. We actually went out and played in the sandbox for a while this morning. It was glorious. Then the neighbor's cat came and visited us, so we had to follow the cat. Emma was getting so upset. She hears or sees a cat and starts to say, "Meow!" instantly. So cute.

Today is rest day. Tomorrow is our last swimming class, grocery shopping, packing, etc. Jonathan is on worship team, so we won't see him from lunch until after service tomorrow night. I am really going to try and drag the kids to church. They love going to Promiseland and I love worshipping with Jonathan's worship team. Brad is a really good worship leader. I also love Pastor Henry and remember his sermons for weeks after.

On Sunday, Jenny and I are off to Victoria. It should be lovely. No kids. No commitments. A queen size bed to myself... This is dreamy. And Jonathan is happy for me to go. He gets the house to himself. The kids get to spend time with Granny and Grandpa...Everyone wins in this situation.

I hope you are all enjoying the sun. Take care.

P.S. Has anyone thought about going to the New Kids Concert??? Just wondering if I was the only one out there...

A Time of Rest

Well, we spent a lot of time with my in-laws this past weekend. We went out for supper on Saturday, to the zoo on Sunday and then to the mall yesterday, then out for supper last night. Yes, you guessed it: We are all tired. Today is a day of rest, except that Aidan has Preschool this afternoon and Jonathan is still off for one more day. My in-laws are in Banff, then Jasper, then Edmonton, then back here on Saturday for more fun and adventures.

Emma took to Grandad right away. She seems to prefer the opposite sex. One time at church she went to a guy (that was playing on Jonathan's worship team) that she had never met before. I guess she feels drawn to them. Whatever the reason, she went to Grandad right after lunch on Saturday, which is pretty impressive for a girl who plays shy with everyone.

Meanwhile Aidan was the center of attention and loved every minute of it. I think it is a hard transition today because everyone is not hanging on every single word he is saying. That must be hard for him.

In other news, my parents will find out whether or not they are able to come home in between surgery and radiation treatment, by tomorrow. I hope so. My dad and mom need a break from Toronto and my aunt probably needs a break from them invading her one bedroom apartment. My poor aunt, who has never lived with anyone in her life... I feel for her. I will keep you posted.

I hope that you are enjoying your afternoon. I have a couple hours to myself. It is such a rare thing that I don't know what to do with myself....

A Blog?? From Me??

Children after my own heart!! Can you tell that they have a mom for a teacher???

Yes, I am still alive. My mom-in-law and dad-in-law will be here on Saturday...sometime. We have been trying to organize our house and get ready for their arrival. Aidan is excited about the impending visit. Emma? Well, she doesn't really know that anything is going on. We shall see.

Emma has been trying to take her first few steps on her own the past couple of days. I was hoping that she would wait and do it when the grandparents were here, but she will do it on her own time. She is a girl, after all, and therefore has the right to do whatever she wants to do at the time. Ahh, girls!!

My parents are still in Toronto. They will know (hopefully) sometime next week, when they can come home. Hopefully they will be able to before they start the radiation treatment. (Back in Toronto) We'll see.

I hope you are all doing well. I am sick (the story of my life this year) with yet another cold/sore throat thingy. I hope it will be gone for Saturday. I have been doctoring myself up, so hopefully!!
