My dad should be released from the hospital today. He has been off oxygen for a few days and up walking around. Yesterday he even played Dutch Blitz (card game) with my sister, my aunt and my mom(played on his team) and he won!! He is in good humor and really wants to come home. (Back to Calgary)
They have to see the doctor again tomorrow or Thursday. Then they go in to see the doctor in charge of his radiation therapy next week, to discuss when he will start that treatment. They should be home next week sometime (for a couple of weeks, anyway) before that treatment starts up. And yes, they have to go back to Toronto for it.
I think Aidan and Emma really miss them, Aidan more than Emma. He has been so grumpy lately, like he needs a break from us. (Or me...) It is impossible to get one when we have not used babysitters because my parents have been our babysitters. It is hard for him not to have a special place to go to...You know that place where you are treated like a Prince and Princess?? That doesn't really happen at home (it can't or how would the house run??).
Thank-you for your thoughts and prayers. They are much appreciated. We will get through this, one way or another.
We are off to the zoo today with Aidan's preschool class. It should be fun, as well as tiring!!
Even though I have decended into the valley, the shadow of the mountain still covers me.

Spring is Here!!
What Your Flip Flops Say About You |
![]() You are super laid back and peaceful. Not much disturbs you. You're content with what you have in life, and you can't stand feeling worked up. A lot of good things tend to come your way in life... You're not too busy or stressed to let an opportunity pass you by. Your ideal warm weather place: Hawaii |
I am just so excited about the weather and feeling very flip floppy today. That's why I did this post. I would love to go to Hawaii, but I am not really a lie on the beach kind of person. I burn too easily. I like to travel and do things. (Unless I am in the mountains - then give me a good book or some paper and a pen. I would be as happy as a lark!!)

Easter
9 Days till Audition!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We spent it with my family yesterday. We had a Turkey lunch, which was delicious. It was a nice afternoon.
I had a couple glasses of wine (don't normally drink except for special occasions) and this morning I am suffering from a huge headache. Serves me right, I suppose, but the wine was really tasty. I am just dehydrated, I am sure.
Emma and Aidan looked so cute yesterday in their Easter outfits. We didn't get a picture of Aidan, but the one of Emma is priceless. I will send one out East with my parcel of pictures. You'll definitely want to frame that one.
Emma is also saying words now. She knows "bye-bye" and waves, "toes", "up" and lifts her hands to be picked-up, and "aida..." which she uses to call him all the time. Aidan get annoyed at her following him around, and trying to do what he is doing. And so it begins...
I hope you are all doing well. Let's continue to celebrate Jesus' death and ressurection. What an amazing God!

Poetry Wednesday
Loss
I watch you in the moonlight
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks
There is nothing I can say
Words would only be hollow
Untimely sounds conjured
Words would only be hollow
Untimely sounds conjured
I wait for you to look at me
My heart pounds: it's too late
Finale rhythmic notes
My heart pounds: it's too late
Finale rhythmic notes
Will I ever see you again
The door opens and shuts
Actions answering instantly
The door opens and shuts
Actions answering instantly
Emptiness
I watch you in the moonlight
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks
* * * * * * *
Your eyes fill up with tears
The emptiness speaks
* * * * * * *
This is my own creation. I was just trying to capture that feeling when you know there is nothing that can be said to save a situation. That feeling you get when you know that you are going beyond the rescuing of a relationship.
I love playing with words and trying to make them say things between the lines to convey the emotions in the poem. (I don't know if that makes any sense!) In this case, I am really trying to make you feel the emptiness and loss that the person in the poem is feeling.
If you like my poetry, my other blog (Room to write) has more poems on it. I am going to be doing poetry every Wednesday.
